Can I Take Your Picture?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to be on adventures. In 2005 I landed a consulting job working with the National Park Service.  This amazing job enabled me to see the beautiful parks and meet various, lovely people across the United States. Thus began a journey that fueled my passion for adventure and photography.

In 2016 I began a new venture. My first photography business, Gabrielle in Denver, was born and it has since grown into what is now Studio 14. As a visual story teller and life-long learner, I pride myself on personal interaction with each and every client, for each and every shoot. It is those interactions with people that reveal the secrets of how to capture the best portrait of them, in the best location, with a complete understanding of  needs, expectations, and fears.

These days, I live in Montrose, Colorado with my husband, Kevin and our pup, Nina. Montrose is a small town in Western Colorado and living here suits our work-life balance beautifully. It is also close to rivers, reservoirs, and lakes--Nina's quite the water dog and she lives for the river--not to mention hiking, biking, and all kinds of other recreating.

I'm a proud momma of a recent medical school grad, and I still have roots in Aurora where my dad lives. The next chapter in photography has allowed me to partner with Kevin on our photography adventures and expand what Studio 14 has to offer. From stunning sets in our Studio on Main Street, to on-location shoots nation-wide, we are always seeking our next adventure. We’ve made many friends along the way. It’s been an honor to document all the amazing life events we’ve been honored to photograph, and we know we’re just getting started.

I am also proud to mention that my portrait photography work has been featured in a variety of publications including Wayfinder Magazine, the Montrose Mirror, Montrose Living Magazine, and in a National Park Service Annual Report. I am a three-time International Portrait Masters Award Winner for both black and white and color portrait photography.

But back to my passion for photography and for making every experience unique, some of the questions I am most frequently asked are:

  • What are some tips for being more photogenic?

  • What do I wear and how many outfits should I bring?

  • Can you help me decide on my outfits?

  • What about hair styling?

  • Do you have a makeup artist?

  • How long will the photo shoot be?

  • What do professional portraits cost?

The answer to each of these is as unique as every shoot we plan and experience we deliver. Set up a time to visit the studio, meet me for coffee, have a video call, or simply chat on the phone. I can ease your mind, answer your questions, and ultimately listen to exactly what you want.

What do you say?
